This article explains the blocks you can use to build workflows, covering what each block does and how to configure it.
Workflows are built from three types of blocks:
Data sources – where the workflow starts (the initial dataset)
Filters – narrows down the dataset by applying conditions
Actions – defines what happens to the final set of points
Data sources are the starting point of every workflow. They determine what data will be passed to all the blocks that follow.
What it does:
Loads all OOH points from the active network as the starting dataset.
Inputs:
Collection (OOH point types to include)
Choose whether to include parcel lockers, parcel shops, or both (if available).
To remove a type, click the x next to it.
To add it back, open the dropdown (click the input bar) or start typing.
Exclude disabled
If you've disabled some locations in Area analysis, enabling this option ensures those disabled locations won't be included when you run the workflow.
Exclude unwanted
Excludes existing locations marked as unwanted, or locations inside an unwanted region (set within the selected delivery area in Area analysis).
When to use it:
Use Current network when your workflow is meant to evaluate, adjust, or take action on points that already exist in your network.
What it does:
Loads points from one or more selected POI collections as the starting dataset.
Inputs:
POI collection(s)
Select one or multiple collections. Click the input field to open the dropdown, or start typing the collection name and select it.
To remove one collection, click the x next to its name. To remove all, click the large X inside the input field.
When to use it:
Use POI collection when you want to evaluate locations outside your network, such as candidate locations (partner locations or potential sites), competitor locations, etc.
Filter blocks find data points that match specific conditions, so that only those continue to the next blocks.
What it does:
Filters points based on their distance to a target group.
Inputs:
Compare to
Choose what you want to compare against: Current network, or POI collection
Target group
If comparing to Current network, choose the target OOH type (parcel lockers or parcel shops).
If comparing to a POI collection, choose the specific POI collection.
In both cases, you can select from the dropdown menu or type to search.
Condition
Near or Away
Distance (meters)
Enter a numeric value in meters.
Example:
If your data source is a POI collection and your target group is existing parcel lockers, the block measures distance from each POI to all parcel lockers, then keeps only the POIs that match your distance condition.
When to use it:
Use it to find points that are too close to existing locations, or far enough away to fill coverage gaps. Or use it to find points near candidate or competitor locations.
What it does:
Filters points based on metric values.
Inputs:
Metric
Choose which metric to evaluate.
Condition
Greater than
Greater than or equal to
Less than
Less than or equal to
Equals
Top percentile
Bottom percentile
Value
Enter the threshold value.
When to use it:
Use it when you want to keep only points that meet performance thresholds (or select the best/worst percent).
What it does:
Filters points using values stored in metadata fields.
Inputs:
Metadata key
Enter the column label where the metadata is stored.
Example: if you uploaded POIs and added a column called paymentType (cash/card/both), then paymentType is your metadata key.
Value type
Auto (autodetection)
String
Number
List
Date
Condition
Exists / Does not exist
Equals / Does not equal
Contains / Does not contain
Greater than / Greater or equal to
Less than / Less than or equal to
Before / After / On or before / On or after (Date)
Has item / Does not have item (List)
Is empty / Is not empty
Value
Some conditions require you to enter a value (for example, “Equals”, “Contains”, “After”, etc.).
When to use it:
Use it when your POIs or network points include additional attributes (such as partner type, opening hours, services, payment types, etc.), and you want to filter by them.
What it does:
Applies multiple filters in a single block, combining them with AND/OR logic.
How to configure:
Click Add filter
Choose a filter from the dropdown
Click the filter inside the Multifilter block to configure it
To remove a filter, open the Multifilter configuration and click the bin icon next to the filter
To change the logic between filters, click AND to switch to OR (and vice versa)
When to use it:
Use it to build more advanced selection rules without stacking many separate filter blocks.
Action blocks define the outcome of your workflow – what will happen to the points that remain after filtering.
What it does:
Adds a pin to the resulting points.
When to use it:
Use it to visually mark the final result set.
What it does:
Disables the resulting network points.
When to use it:
Use it when you want your workflow to automatically identify and disable existing network points that meet certain conditions.
