Importing points of interest

On the Manage POIs page, you can import and manage collections of points of interest. 

A collection is a group of points of interest you can manage together. Each collection is a specific set of POIs, such as stores or gas stations, all tied together by a single icon and relevant information.

To import new points of interest:

• Click the Add new collection button.

• Enter a name for the group of POIs and provide a brief description.

• Select an icon to visualize the specific POIs. You can choose one of the standard icons from our library and customize its background color, or you can upload a custom icon (.svg).

  

  Tip: If the preset background colors don't meet your needs, click the + sign and choose a custom color from the swatch or enter a specific hex code for your desired shade.

• Next, you need to upload a CSV, JSON, or XLSX file with information about the POIs. This file needs to contain the latitude and longitude of each point. Optionally, you can include other relevant information, such as the name, working hours, rent fee, and useful notes.

  

  Tip: If you're unsure how to format the file, download the provided template (in Step 3) and enter your information into the table.
  

  Tip: To view the additional information, right-click the desired location and select View details. This extra information can be helpful when scouting locations. For instance, you can add notes about required facilities, or save rejected locations as a new collection with notes explaining why they weren't a good fit, so you can easily reference them next time you revisit.
  

Before uploading any files, please check the requirements below.

Added collections will appear in the list on the Manage POIs page.

Custom icon requirements

You can upload a custom icon if you want to use a specific image for a group of POIs. Before uploading, make sure it is by the following requirements:

• File format: SVG

• File size: Cannot be larger than 1 MB

SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) is a file format for vector images. It maintains quality at any size, making it ideal for icons.

POI data requirements

• File format: CSV, JSON, XLSX

• File size: Cannot be larger than 3 MB

• Required columns: Latitude and longitude are the only required columns and must have values for all points (cells). The accepted column labels are lat and lng or Latitude and Longitude, respectively. 

• Data format:  

  • Latitude and longitude values can include decimal points, using a dot (.) as the delimiter.

  • If the file format is CVS (Comma Separated Values), the delimiter must be a comma (,) or semicolon (;).
